A typical wefted cap, also referred to as simple or classic wig caps, consists of stitched-on hair tied to fabric strips referred as wefts. These are then woven around the cap's head to simulate the growth of natural hair - making it cap one of the more common and affordable cap styles that are available today.

The open wefted cap looks like its traditional version, but it is more natural in appearance and feel because the wefts aren't as hefty, and have some breathing room between rows of wefts. As it's less likely to break over time, it's often preferred by ladies with sensitive scalps that require wigs of lighter weight.

Caps that are hand tied come in many styles. Each fiber is hand tied onto the cap for an appearance that is more natural and light feel. However there is a chance that the ventilation won't be as effective. Additionally, these wigs could require extra care due to their delicate nature demands more care than wefted cap wigs.
